This year the Sea Trust, based in Goodwick, is 21 years old.

Founded in 2003 by Cliff Benson to protect local wildlife, the Sea Trust was initially housed in a spare bedroom at his home. In 2013, it took over the Ocean Lab building on Goodwick seafront, where its aims and objectives remain the same: to raise awareness, research and protect the marine wildlife around Pembrokeshire.

It plans to celebrate its 21st anniversary by running birthday events throughout the year. It has also announced the re-opening of its aquarium.

It says: “Over the last month, our staff, interns, volunteers and maintenance team have worked tirelessly to get our aquarium and yellow submarine ready to re-open.Our final 3.30pm tour has become a feeding tour, allowing guests to connect with our animals, and experience up close how they feed. We have been cleaning, re-arranging and creating resources to be able to give our visitors the best experience we possibly can. We have also been out at the breakwater collecting new species to showcase the fantastic wildlife that surrounds Goodwick and Fishguard. During this time, we also had species given to us by local fishermen, and we are so thankful.”
