E-Bikes Come to Pembrokeshire

Today sees the start of a pay-as-you-go e-bike trial in Pembrokeshire.
The trial lasts for 12 months and people in four towns – Haverfordwest, Fishguard, Goodwick and Tenby – will have access to e-bikes which can be used for commuting or leisure and local activities.
The scheme has been funded by the Swansea Bay and South West Wales Metro programme.to the tune of £150,000.
The e-bikes are bikes with motors which should help users to cover greater distances in less time and with less effort. It is hoped that both visitors and local people will make use of this alternative method of getting about, leaving cars at home for short trips under 2km.
Users will be able to collect and leave e-bikes at pick-up and drop-off sites around the towns.
Zipp mobility will maintain the cycles which can be accessed by over-18s via an app. The app also gives details of costs and registering.
