Fashion Show Raises £300 for Charities

A charity fashion show at the Buffs club in Kilgetty, organised by Pembrokeshire.Online contributor Sian Walker, raised £300 for three local charities: Pembrokeshire Cancer Support, Greenacres Animal Rescue and Mencap/Stackpole Walled Gardens.

Sian set up the event, on 23 June, because of the struggle many charities have been facing during this cost-of-living crisis.

She said: “Charities rely on public donations and when most people are struggling themselves, it’s hard to give to charity.”

With the help of her mum, Margaret Walker, who is a volunteer at Pembrokeshire Cancer Support charity shop in Pembroke Dock, Sian went round various local charity shops buying items for the fashion show.
The models were  Sian herself, Lori-rose, Stacey and Casey ward, and Beth Matthews. Beth has Down’s syndrome and does a lot of modelling with Zebedee Talent. All the models were sourced by Sian via social media and local papers.

The fashion show included high street items and a few designer items too.
After the show, all items worn by models were available for sale.
Everyone had a fab night and the total amount raised was £300.
Music was provided by Billy Connor and photography was by Paul Collett.
