Free Training in the Art of Welcome

As inflation and covid continue to challenge the tourism industry, and local businesses struggle to recruit and retain staff, Ancient Connections says: “We know that the local tourism economy needs all the support it can get to fulfil visitor expectation, improve on the welcome and service we can offer visitors, and grow the sector sustainably over the coming years.

“Welcomer training is designed to support those in the hospitality and retail industry to do just that. From waiting staff to hospitality receptionists, taxi drivers to shop assistants, this light, free two half-day programme will help get skills polished up for summer.

“And Ancient Connections is offering a new Welcomers Business Subsidy of £60 to cover the two half-days of staff training.”

Training days coming up in North Pembrokeshire:

Wednesday 13 July, 1pm – 4pm, Oriel y Parc, St Davids

Thursday 14 July, 10am – 1pm, Fishguard, venue tbc.

Training places are limited, so booking is vital. You can apply for the Welcomer Business Subsidy at the same time.
