There is Such a Thing as a Free Lunch

Pembrokeshire Foodbank has asked us to let our readers know about a free lunch, available for all at the Courthouse Café in Narberth on a Wednesday… and yes, that is every Wednesday until further notice, between 11am and 1.30pm.

This free meal consists of home-made soup and a roll. Tea and coffee are also part of the deal. It’s all free but if you would like to make a donation, that would be most welcome. This has been made possible by Fareshare food (perishable products from supermarkets in the county) – meaning that meals can be offered at no cost.

The team would also like you to know that there is an option for a veggie soup. There is no need to book but if a person has specific dietary requirements they could email info@pembrokeshire.foodbank.org.uk. The list of ingredients is available on the day.

Yvonne, who has eaten at the café, says: “I get such a warm welcome every time I come into the café and the soup is delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and there is always someone to chat to. This really is a gem of a place.”

The team providing the meal are dedicated to making sure no one goes hungry, but that doesn’t mean the food is anything other than the very best quality….. and it doesn’t stop there.

Foodbank chefs Mandy and Barry are also offering free cookery classes to anyone who is interested on a Tuesday afternoon between 2pm and 3pm. The ingredients are free and everything created can be taken home at the end of the session

Booking is essential and this can be done via email: admin@pembrokeshire.foodbank.org.uk or phone 07913989624.
