Pathways to a New Life
Rosella Phillips is running a workshop that we thought looked very interesting. We asked her to tell us something about the workshop and hr work in general.
Rosella is a qualified art and design teacher with a degree in textile design living in Narberth with her husband and their six-year old daughter and three-year-old son.
She says that her experiences as a mum have challenged her to think about the life she wants to create for herself and her family.
“I am inspired by the idea of intentional living (creating a life on purpose) and have researched and continued learning in areas of personal growth. It is very easy to feel overwhelmed by social media and to strive for other people’s perfection. However, getting clear on what is important to me has helped me focus on and take action in the right direction.”
Rosella describes herself as a visual learner: “I use creative and visual techniques to understand and solve problems rather than just thinking about it. By exploring and researching my own challenges I have developed strategies to help others make small behaviour changes to progress, and I want to share these ideas with other parents. I am passionate about sharing my skills and knowledge to help and encourage others.”
The vision board workshop was created to help other people to gain clarity and create a better life for themselves and their families. “Often people, especially mothers, don’t have time or the energy to think about these things,” Rosella says. ” I wanted to provide a space and time for attendees to contemplate what is important to them, whilst using tools and strategies to help them move forward and take action. It will also be an opportunity to connect with others which creates accountability, encourages creativity and helps to avoid procrastination.
“I also deliver creative projects for Springboard (a Learning Pembrokeshire project delivering free courses for families in targeted primary schools), as I am passionate about inspiring others. My enthusiasm along with my patience allows me to form a positive rapport with learners as I encourage them to explore their creativity and self-expression, which builds confidence and raises self-esteem.”
Rosella is also particularly interested in promoting creative development and independent play in children. “I teach how to use creativity to develop skills such as problem solving, confidence and growth mindset. I help parents to create an environment for their children that encourages independent play.”
Apart from her upcoming workshop Rosella has plans to create online courses which will offer one-to-one coaching in the future.
Future dates for more vision board workshops are Friday 25 (9.30am-2.30pm) and Saturday 26 (10.30am-3.30pm) March.
