Pont Trecynny Garden Opening for NGS

Wendy Kinver of Pont Trecynny garden, near Fishguard, has reminded us that it will be open to the public on Wednesday 29 July from 1pm to 5.45pm as part of the National Garden Scheme. All visitors must book in advance via the NGS website.

Wendy says: “Pont Trecynny is 3.5 acres with a mixture of a field of grasses and trees, topiary and exotic plants, a small stream and an orchard. And there will be some plants for sale.”

Visitors can meander through a meadow planted with native trees, past the pond and over a bridge which takes them along a path through an arboretum, orchard and gravel garden and into the formal garden full of cloud trees, exotic plants and pots – which then leads to the stream and vegetable garden.

Admission is £4.50, free for children. Visitors are also welcome to come and see the garden at other times in July and August, but visits have to be arranged in advance via the NGS website.

This garden was one of ten shortlisted for the Daily Mail‘s Garden of the Year competition in 2019 (which saw almost 2,000 entries) and has also been featured on S4C.

And remember: Dyffryn Fernant garden, Dinas, Fishguard, will also be opening for the NGS on Sunday 2 August. Entrance via the NGS online booking with time slots. Details here.
