Prosiectau Arfordir Penfro yn cael eu cydnabod yng Ngwobrau Amddiffynwyr y Parc Cenedlaethol
Cafodd dau brosiect sy’n helpu pobl i wirfoddoli a mwynhau amrywiaeth o weithgareddau yn yr awyr agored yn Sir Benfro eu cydnabod yn ddiweddar yng Ngwobrau Amddiffynwyr Parciau Cenedlaethol 2023, sy’n cydnabod yr unigolion a’r grwpiau sy’n mynd y filltir ychwanegol i Barciau Cenedlaethol.
Cafodd prosiect Gwreiddiau i Adferiad, sy’n cael ei redeg mewn partneriaeth rhwng Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro a Mind Sir Benfro, ei enwi’n ail yng Nghategori Safbwyntiau Newydd y gwobrau, sy’n dathlu’r bobl, y prosiectau neu’r mentrau sy’n hyrwyddo ac yn ysbrydoli amrywiaeth a chynhwysiant mewn Parciau Cenedlaethol.
Mae Gwreiddiau i Adferiad yn brosiect sy’n cael ei arwain gan bobl am bwerau adferol awyr agored anhygoel Sir Benfro. Mae pobl o bob gallu yn dysgu sgiliau newydd ac yn mwynhau amrywiaeth o weithgareddau fel teithiau bywyd gwyllt, celf a chrefft, gwaith cadwraeth, sesiynau llesiant a gweithgareddau garddio.
Roedd Cenhedlaeth Nesaf Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro, sy’n cynnwys Pwyllgor Ieuenctid a Pharcmyn Ifanc yr Awdurdod, hefyd ar y rhestr fer yn y categori Safbwyntiau Newydd.
Dywedodd Maisie Sherratt, Swyddog Gwreiddiau i Adferiad/Swyddog Cynnwys ac Ymgysylltu â Phobl Ifanc Awdurdod y Parc Cenedlaethol: “Rwy’n falch iawn o’r gwaith caled a’r ymrwymiad y mae pawb sy’n ymwneud â’r prosiectau hyn yn eu dangos. Diolch i bawb am eich cefnogaeth gyson a’ch geiriau o anogaeth.”
Ychwanegodd Prif Weithredwr Awdurdod y Parc Cenedlaethol, Tegryn Jones: “Roeddwn i’n falch iawn bod dau brosiect o Barc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro wedi cyrraedd y rhestr fer, gan barhau â’r traddodiad cryf o enillwyr blaenorol a’r rhai a gyrhaeddodd y rownd derfynol yn ystod y blynyddoedd diwethaf.
“Mae’r ddau brosiect hyn yn tynnu sylw at rai o’r gwahanol ffyrdd y mae Awdurdod y Parc yn gweithio i ymgysylltu â phobl o bob oed, cefndir a gallu i archwilio sut y gall y Parc Cenedlaethol fod o fudd iddyn nhw a sut y gallan nhw helpu i wneud y Parc yn lle gwell i bobl eraill.”
Gan nad oedd y cyfranogwyr yn y ddau brosiect yn gallu dod i’r seremoni wobrwyo yn y Senedd yn Llundain, cynhaliwyd noson arbennig yn Oriel a Chanolfan Ymwelwyr Oriel y Parc yn Nhyddewi i ddathlu eu llwyddiannau, ochr yn ochr â’r sefydliadau a’r unigolion sydd wedi’u cefnogi.

Two projects that help people volunteer and enjoy a range of activities in Pembrokeshire’s great outdoors were recently recognised in the 2023 National Park Protector Awards, which recognise the individuals and groups who go above and beyond, in and for National Parks.
Roots to Recovery, run in partnership between Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and Mind Pembrokeshire, was named runner-up in the New Perspectives Category of the awards, which celebrates the people, projects or initiatives that champion and inspire diversity and inclusion in National Parks.
Roots to Recovery is a people-led project about the restorative powers of Pembrokeshire’s amazing outdoors. People of all abilities learn new skills and enjoy a range of activities such as wildlife walks, arts and crafts, conservation work, wellbeing sessions and gardening activities.
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Next Generation, made up of the Authority’s Youth Rangers and Youth Committee was also shortlisted in the New Perspectives category.
Maisie Sherratt, National Park Authority Roots to Recovery Officer/Inclusion and Youth Engagement Officer, said: “I’m so proud of the hard work and commitment that everyone involved with these projects put in. Thank you to everyone for your constant support and words of encouragement.”
National Park Authority chief executive Tegryn Jones said: “I was extremely proud that two projects from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park had been shortlisted, continuing the strong tradition of previous winners and finalists we’ve had in the last few years.
“These two projects highlight some of the different ways the Park Authority is working to engage people from a range of ages, backgrounds and abilities to explore how the National Park can benefit them and how they can help make the Park a better place for others.”
As the participants in both projects were unable to attend the awards ceremony in the Houses of Parliament in London, a special evening was held at Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre in St Davids to celebrate their achievements, alongside the organisations and individuals that have supported them.
