Wanted: Budding Playwrights

Do you have a play in you? There is only a month to get it down and get it to Pint Sized Plays.

The closing date for submissions, which should be five to ten minutes long, is 31 May.

This popular competition, now in its 15th year, will see the ten winning scripts being performed at various venues in Pembrokeshire in September. The performers are all local actors, both professional and amateur, who always put on a sterling show.

All the plays will then be performed at the Script Slam at Theatr Gwaun, Fishguard, on 7 October – where the audience have the opportunity to vote for their favourite. The winner will be awarded the Pint Pot and the runner-up the Half Pint Pot.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, the organisers say many of the winning playwrights over the years have had their plays performed around the world and for some this has been the start of a whole new career.

So, if you think you have something to offer, it’s time to get writing.
