Another Chance to See Scam
Pembrokeshire’s very own crime thriller is being screened in Haverfordwest
It’s been the filmmakers’ mission to bring Pembrokeshire’s very own feature film, Scam, to local audiences but, with the recent closure of the Palace Cinema, it seemed like it might never be shown in Haverfordwest. Now, with a screening hosted by HaverHub on Saturday 15 October, those living in the area can watch this gem of a movie worked on by a local cast and crew and supported by several Pembrokeshire businesses.
Scam has received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike, not least for its twisty plot, funky soundtrack and great cinematography, and it’s been selected for three film festivals to date, including the Cardiff International Film Festival which screens it at the end of the month.
It is a neo-noir crime thriller about a young singer who, after discovering the truth about her father’s fatal accident, fights to break free from her domineering mother and scam-artist sister. It’s a cautionary tale about interdependence, abuse and greed, with impeccable performances by local actors.
Created by local filmmakers Nick Swannell and Alison Rayner, Scam is Alnico Productions’ first feature film. Experienced actor Cate Lovett is joined on screen by singer/songwriter Megan Lote-Williams and actor Bibi MacDougall.
Saturday 15 October, 7.30pm (doors open 7pm), HaverHub, The Old Post Office, 12 Quay Street, Haverfordwest SA61 1BG.
