Tea With Sian – 5: The Potting Shed

My latest tea adventure was at The Potting Shed in Manorbier Garden Centre. I am  a regular visitor here but had never tried the afternoon tea.

The day I visited, The Potting Shed had a staffing issue but the service and delivery was still as friendly and efficient as always. I  hadn’t been to Manorbier for a few weeks but the staff still remembered me and were genuinely pleased to see me.
The afternoon tea arrived on a three-tiered stand and a two-tiered glass stand. It consisted of crustless cheese and pickle, tuna mayo and egg mayo sandwiches, Scotch eggs, sausage rolls and pork pie.
The sweet selection included little eclairs, carrot cake and scones with jam and cream and – a little bit different – lemon cream. A pot of tea was included in the price.
Manorbier Garden Centre is a great place to visit; not only does it do great food and coffee, it also has a good selection of plants, flowers, trees, vegetables, outdoor furniture and gifts. It also has two lovely black cats and three friendly dogs.
At Christmas it has a great selection of decorations and sometimes you will find the cats sitting among them.
The price of afternoon tea is around £15 per person.
