The new illustrated map of St Davids is unveiled at Oriel y Parc Gallery
Map lluniau newydd yn ceisio ysbrydoli rhagor o bobl i archwilio Tyddewi ar droed
Nod y map lluniau newydd yw ennyn diddordeb ac ysbrydoli ymwelwyr a phobl leol fel ei gilydd i archwilio Tyddewi ar droed, a darganfod safleoedd, synau a straeon dinas leiaf Prydain.
Cafodd y map, a gafodd ei ddatgelu yn Oriel a Chanolfan Ymwelwyr Oriel y Parc ar 13 Awst, ei greu gan yr artist o Aberteifi, Hannah Rounding, a greodd y gwaith celf gyda mewnbwn gan bobl leol.
Dywedodd Hannah Rounding: “Mae’r map yn cynnwys tirnodau adnabyddus fel Eglwys Gadeiriol Tyddewi, Llys yr Esgob ac Oriel y Parc, ond mae hefyd yn dangos lleoliadau llai adnabyddus fel Pont y Penyd, yr Ardd Gymunedol a Baromedr yr RNLI, ochr yn ochr â’r amrywiaeth o fywyd gwyllt sydd ar gael yn y ddinas a’r ardal gyfagos.
“Rwy’n hynod ddiolchgar am yr holl wybodaeth leol y mae pobl wedi’i rhannu â mi fel rhan o’r prosiect, sydd wedi ychwanegu cymaint o wybodaeth ychwanegol a fydd, gobeithio, o ddiddordeb i bobl ac yn eu hannog i archwilio mwy o drysorau cudd yr ardal.”

A new illustrated map is aiming to engage and inspire visitors and locals alike to explore St Davids on foot, and discover the sites, sounds and stories of Britain’s smallest city.
The map, unveiled at Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre, was illustrated by Cardigan-based artist Hannah Rounding, who created the artwork with input from local people.
She said: “The map features well-known landmarks such as St David’s Cathedral, the Bishops Palace and Oriel y Parc, but also shows lesser-known locations such as Penitent’s Bridge, the Community Garden and the RNLI Barometer, alongside the array of wildlife which can be found in the city and the surrounding area.
“I’m extremely grateful for all the local knowledge that people shared with me as part of the project, which has added such a lot of additional information that, hopefully, will interest people and encourage them to explore more of the area’s many hidden gems.”
For those who are unable to walk far, there are mobility scooters available to hire from Oriel y Parc; and the Celtic Coaster coastal bus, which calls at various popular locations around the St Davids Peninsula, stops just outside the car park at Oriel y Parc.
