Plant yn rheoli Castell Caeriw y mis hwn

Unwaith yn gadarnle i freninwneuthurwyr, marchogion y deyrnas a thywysogesau hardd, y mis hwn bydd Castell Caeriw yn cael ei feddiannu gan blant yr oes hon.

Bydd digwyddiad Plant yn Rheoli’r Castell ar ddydd Sadwrn 9 Gorffennaf yn nodi’r tro cyntaf erioed i atyniad Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro drosglwyddo’r awenau i’r genhedlaeth iau, mewn diwrnod o adloniant ar gyfer pobl a phlant o bob oed.

Bydd rhaglen lawn o weithgareddau am ddim yn cael eu cynnal drwy gydol y dydd, gan gynnwys adrodd straeon, gwneud swigod, peintio tariannau, gwneud bomiau hadau a diodydd cymysg, gemau traddodiadol a gwisgo i fyny. Mae’r ffi mynediad arferol hefyd yn cynnwys teithiau amrywiol o amgylch y Castell, yr Ysgol Marchogion boblogaidd a’r sesiynau Horrid Histories, yn ogystal ag arddangos rhai o hoff gymeriadau’r plant.

Bydd hen ffair, Pembrokeshire Parkour, crwydro gydag alpacas, sŵ anifeiliaid anwes a stondinau eraill yn ffurfio gweddill yr atyniadau.

Dywedodd Rheolwr Castell Caeriw, Daisy Hughes: “Rydyn ni’n edrych ymlaen at groesawu ein gwesteion iau (a’u teuluoedd!) i’r hyn sy’n argoeli i fod y diwrnod mwyaf hwylus eto. Nid oes angen archebu lle ymlaen llaw. Dewch draw ar y diwrnod a chewch ddewis y gweithgareddau sydd o ddiddordeb i chi.

“Mae hwyl yn gallu bod yn flinedig, felly os ydych chi eisiau ychydig o lonydd neu seibiant cyflym cyn ailgychwyn yr anturiaethau, bydd Ystafell De Nest yn gweini amrywiaeth blasus o ginio, cacennau a lluniaeth yn ystod y dydd.

“Am ddiwrnod perffaith i’r teulu, mae’r digwyddiad Plant yn Rheoli’r Castell yn cynnig rhywbeth sy’n addas i bob chwaeth a diddordeb.”

Bydd Plant yn Rheoli’r Castell yn cael ei gynnal yng Nghastell Caeriw rhwng 10am a 5pm ddydd Sadwrn 9 Gorffennaf.

Once the stronghold of kingmakers, knights and princesses, Carew Castle is about to be taken over by children.

The Kids Rule the Castle event on Saturday 9 July will mark the first time that the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority-run attraction has handed over control to the younger generation, in a day of entertainment for all ages.

A packed programme of free activities will run throughout the day, including storytelling, giant bubble-making, shield painting, seed bomb and potion making, traditional games and dressing up. Also included with the normal admission fee are various quests around the Castle, the ever-popular Knight School and Horrid Histories sessions, as well as walkabouts from favourite children’s characters.

A vintage funfair, Pembrokeshire Parkour, alpaca trekking, a petting zoo and stalls will form the other attractions.

Carew Castle manager Daisy Hughes said: “We look forward to welcoming our younger guests (and their grown-ups!) to what promises to be our most fun day yet. There is no need to book in advance. Just turn up on the day and choose the activities that interest you.

“Fun can be tiring, and whether it’s peace and quiet that you crave or a quick refuelling stop before more fun-filled adventures, Nest Tearoom will be serving a delicious variety of lunches, cakes and refreshments during the course of the day.

“This perfect family day out offers something to suit every taste and interest.”

Kids Rule the Castle will take place at Carew Castle 10am-5pm, Saturday 9 July. To find out about other events throughout the National Park this summer go to www.pembrokeshirecoast.wales/events.
