Training for Tourism Ambassadors

Ancient Connections has announced its first round of Tourism Ambassador Training will take place in March and April this year: “And, as covid restrictions are easing and omicron levels are falling, we’re set to offer this training in person at venues in Co Wexford and North Pembrokeshire.

“Welcoming visitors to the area and supporting their needs so that the local economy can thrive is very important for our project communities. This training will have a focus on these areas and on those communities along the new pilgrimage route being developed.

“There are two different programmes to choose from: Ambassadors, and Welcomers. Find out more about each, and sign up for training below.”

ANCIENT CONNECTIONS TOURISM AMBASSADORS PROGRAMME

This involves two days of training and offers enhanced information and visitor service skills, for those with time and interest in volunteering as an Ambassador, those already volunteering within the visitor and cultural sphere locally, and those operating and in the front line of tourism in our communities.

Three days of training are offered between March and April, of which two full days must be completed.

WELCOMERS TRAINING

This is an “Ambassador lite” programme which offers an injection of visitor service skills and local information for those who regularly interact with our visitors and who want to provide a more rounded, improved service (and improve those all-important Google and Tripadvisor ratings and reviews). Training is undertaken in one half-day session.

WELCOMERS

Two half-day Welcomer training sessions are offered between March and April this year, of which one half-day must be completed.
