Loving Well – a Poem by Aline Page

LOVING WELL

by ALINE PAGE

To love and be loved is my soul’s purpose.

To seek expression of this love,

To be loving, loveable again.

To survive criticism, passionate storms of rejection,

Onslaught, slander, incomprehension and blame.

To rise again and again

From the dashed, trampled muddy dung of shame.

To refuse to play bad games but rise

From seared burnt-out layers of self,

To break the chains of imprinted pain,

Find releasing keys in dark cells,

Escape bonds and burdens of obligation.

Freed of tyranny, oppression and doubt,

I sing with forgiving heart, make a new start,

Dance, leap, shout, so happy to be out!

Able to let go, float in a supportive universe.

Renewed by transforming waves, safe.

Knowing only love and light enters

Into this magnanimous space that cannot harm, sin,

But only nurtures, responding to any goodness,

Encouraging growth, compassion and kind action within.

Breathing deeply, feeling revived,

Despair vanished, I stare into infinity,

Daring to care again.

To unconditionally love whatever I am.

Becoming more peaceful and serene,

Able to risk sharing and being seen.

Finding my voice, being openly honest,

While striving to speak clearly,

With integrity and gentle respect.

Discovering creative avenues, new directions,

Tenderly leafed by others actions and affection,

Experiencing loving acceptance, encouragement and inspiration.

Aline says of this poem, Loving Well, that it poured out, taking a cathartic route which she hopes is revealing and useful to other tortured souls and may help in lighting a way towards healthier lives: “It is really topical in that it’s about breaking out of old personal imprisoned patterns and discovering how vast life is, eg small child curled tightly up into a ball in dark cell being transformed by ‘angelic’ light and set free for ever; ideally by surviving and staying alive to safely experience a fuller, richer life full of wonderment, love and some joy.”

Kitty has forgotten how long she has been here now but she loves Pembrokeshire for its beauty and it's people. She spends her time searching out stories for pembrokeshire.online, swimming in the sea , drawing and painting as Snorkelfish and eating cake. She says "Pembrokeshire.online has been an opportunity to celebrate this beautiful county and its people. Keep the stories coming. We love to hear from you."
