A Feast of Folk
The annual Fishguard Folk Festival will take place over this year’s late May bank holiday, with most of the events, concerts, sessions, workshops and walks entirely free.
It will run from Friday 24 May to Sunday 26 May. The list of acts will be on www.fishfolkfest.co.uk; the timetable is still being finalised. You can also book for the ticketed concerts from the website.
Two headline acts confirmed are Breabach and Merry Hell.
Merry Hell – Saturday 25 May
Billed as “multi-award winning, Merry Hell offer joyful, uplifting folk-rock, with a message for troubled times. Their energy and passion is complimented by their love of what they do and desire to share hope and togetherness with as many people as are willing to listen.”
Breabach – Sunday 26 May
Said to “unite deep roots in Highland and Island tradition with the innovative Scottish music scene. They have released seven increasingly acclaimed albums, while fuelling their creative appetites in collaborations with BAFTA-award-winning animator Cat Bruce, indigenous Australasian artists Moana & The Tribe, Quebec’s Le Vent du Nord and video game composer Big Giant Circles.”
