Finding Her Feet

Helen and John

Holistic therapist Helen Bingham has lived in Pembrokeshire for seven years, and for two years Llangwm has been her home, with fiancé John Ewart. The couple are getting married In September next year – just after Helen’s daughter in May.

It’s going to be a busy year, then.

Helen laughs: “When is it not busy?”

She goes on to tell us that she and John were approached by the television series Escape To The Country at the beginning of 2023, just after putting their cottage on the market with the intention of moving farther north.

What was it like? Having the camera crews invade your home?

“We were approached as one of ten homes in the area and were really excited,” says Helen. “Actually it was quite intrusive and lots of stuff needed to be moved. We had to leave the house for half a day, so we weren’t there for the filming, but we are looking forward to seeing the house on TV in the autumn.”

Their hope was to move to the Fishguard/Goodwick area, which is the couple’s favourite part of the county. It hasn’t been easy to find a new home there, but Helen and John are keeping their options open.

As well as all this excitement, Helen has started a new business. She is now combining new skills with old ones and has become a foot health practitioner also using therapies such as Hopi candles and facials. Helen has been a Reiki master for over 15 years and plans, alongside using Reiki in her everyday work, to start teaching Reiki in the near future.

She provides a mobile service around Pembrokeshire with her foot therapy.

What does that entail?

“Nail cuts, trim and bur, which is cutting and smoothing with podiatry drill. I look at full foot health and provide treatment for any issues. I get rid of dry skin and I am a trained masseur, so if people want, I will do a foot-and-ankle massage. So many people are stuck a home and their feet become neglected. I have some lovely clients and we really look forward to our visits.”

Recently Helen has taken a room in Em’s hair boutique in Letterston.

“I am there on alternate Tuesday and Wednesday, but it’s generally for more holistic treatment with essential oils. It has a great atmosphere at Emma’s where everyone is very friendly and welcoming.”

Business is going well, so much so that Helen has extended her working days to take on new mobile clients. Don’t delay, folks, book her now.
