David Wilson and the Moods of Wales

We are delighted to be able to share the latest news from local photographer DAVID WILSON….

The Many Splendoured Moods of Wales

As the sun, which has been somewhat shy of late, begins to poke its head out in springtime Wales, I’m reminded of how fortunate I am as a photographer to live in a country with proper weather. That weather arrives primarily from a westerly direction; from the Atlantic. Sure, Ireland shields us a bit and we must thank it for that, but the sideways rains and flattening winds hit us all the same. And I love it!
A village in Snowdonia, just after dawn in January. It was cold. It was wet. It was elemental and enlivening.
Newgale beach in Pembrokeshire. The wintry sun was dipping for the horizon as a storm headed my way. Minutes later I got drenched as I bolted for the car.
Christmas in a Welsh village? Not quite. When we do have snow in Pembrokeshire – a rare occurence – it often falls in March. The mist was a welcome addition, helping to soften the image.
And, just to show that the sun does come out in Wales – Porthgain in Pembrokeshire.
Any photography questions?

If you have any photography related questions, please feel free to email me. I can’t promise I can give you a definitive answer – or even an answer that makes any sense – but I’ll have a good stab at it! (I can’t give advice on buying a camera, though. The camera I use is ten years old and I have no idea of what is on the market.)

Kitty Parsons

Kitty has forgotten how long she has been here now but she loves Pembrokeshire for its beauty and it's people. She spends her time searching out stories for pembrokeshire.online, swimming in the sea , drawing and painting as Snorkelfish and eating cake. She says "Pembrokeshire.online has been an opportunity to celebrate this beautiful county and its people. Keep the stories coming. We love to hear from you."
