Tenby Museum Needs Volunteers

Tenby Museum and Art Gallery is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to join its team to help visitors enjoy their visit. It says that no experience is necessary.

It needs reception volunteers to greet customers, take payment for admission and sell items from the giftshop and secondhand book collection.

Volunteers also get the opportunity to meet guests from all different walks of life, and from around the world.

Current opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 10am-4pm (last admission 3.30pm); volunteers would be needed on a rota basis during these times.

The museum says: “We are the oldest independent museum in Wales, having been established in 1878. We are set over three floors, with two separate art galleries and a museum collection spanning from millions of years BC and then progressing through to modern times. Volunteering is a rewarding experience, helping to conserve history and heritage for the enjoyment of current and future generations alike. It also looks very good on a CV! We do not require any particular skills or prior experience – just a good manner with people and an interest in the role. Knowledge of the local area and history is an advantage but not a requirement.”
