Creative Workshops for Kids This Summer

A programme of children’s art and craft workshops will take place over the coming weeks at Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre in St Davids.

Throughout the summer holidays, children will be able to join talented local artists in Oriel y Parc’s weekly workshops, every Wednesday throughout August.

10 August offers the opportunity for young people to draw nature from sounds and movements under the tutelage of Hannah Rounding and create their own nature book. Kate Evans will take the reins on 17 August with sessions on weaving with recycled materials; and on 24 August, Hannah Rounding will return to lead some watercolour workshops, using repurposed household items.

The final arts and craft workshop will be a ranger-led drop-in session on 31 August, where participants will get the chance to make their own bee bombs.

Claire Bates, visitor services manager at Oriel y Parc, said: “We look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages this summer, as well as giving local business a boost and connecting more young people to the world of art.

“Booking is essential for all workshops. There is no age limit, but we ask that each child is accompanied by one responsible adult. Places can be booked online with no charge for accompanying adults.”
