PLANED Team Receives Excellence Award

At an online ceremony, the team at PLANED received an award from the High Sheriff of Dyfed, Sharron Lusher, to recognise the work of everyone within the organisation in how they have continued to support communities and projects across Pembrokeshire during the past year. 

The Lord Lieutenant, Sara Edwards, also joined the Zoom presentation to congratulate the team for their considerable efforts and commend their work of partnership with communities and other organisations across the county during the pandemic.

In attendance at the event, in addition to PLANED team members, its board of trustees, led by the chair, Barbara Priest were present, as were the chair and vice chair of the LEADER Local Action Group, Councillor Tony Baron, and Tegryn Jones, chief executive of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.

PLANED is the only single organisation and team collectively to receive a Certificate of Excellence across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion in this year’s awards from the High Sheriff of Dyfed, as all other awards are for individuals, small groups and projects that have delivered specific tasks and outcomes during the pandemic and lockdowns. 

Responding to the award at the online event, PLANED chief executive Iwan Thomas said: “This is a fantastic recognition for the team we now have at PLANED, whose professionalism, experience and skills have surpassed all expectations in how they have responded and continued to deliver in an innovative and bespoke way for communities during the last twelve months. All team members have contributed towards the outcomes we have continued to deliver and have done so with new ideas, transparency, and working effectively in partnership with other key third, public and private-sector partners.”

Barbara Priest said: “The whole team at PLANED thoroughly deserve this award for how they have continued to evolve and support people across Pembrokeshire in what has been the most challenging of times for everyone. It has not been easy, but with clear direction, a genuine and positive team ethos and approach, they have done far more than has been expected, as have many organisations similarly across the third and voluntary sectors here within the county as well.”

The Lord Lieutenant and High Sheriff noted how PLANED in recent years had really promoted the importance of people in their work, with projects that support communities ranging across digital and community wellbeing, micro-enterprises and community shares, culture and heritage, community land trusts and environmental, alongside broader networks for different interest groups, and administering the LEADER Fund within Pembrokeshire; it had also collectively enabled and supported many communities and groups, and would continue to do so for many years to come.

Sadly, unable to celebrate the award in person, the team continue to work from home and support numerous projects and communities across Pembrokeshire, while currently working with partners to support work on volunteering, engaging with town and community councils, and wider socio-economic resilience opportunities for communities post-Covid.

   

TÎM PLANED YN ENNILL GWOBR AM RAGORIAETH YN YSTOD COVID

Mewn seremoni ar-lein ddydd Llun 8 Mawrth, enillodd tîm PLANED wobr gan Uchel Siryf Dyfed, Mrs Sharron Lusher DL, i gydnabod gwaith pawb yn y sefydliad ar sut maent wedi parhau i gefnogi cymunedau a phrosiectau ledled Sir Benfro dros y flwyddyn ddiwethaf.  

Ymunodd Miss Sara Edwards, yr Arglwydd Raglaw, â’r cyflwyniad ar Zoom hefyd i longyfarch tîm PLANED am eu hymdrechion sylweddol ac i ganmol gwaith eu partneriaeth gyda chymunedau a sefydliadau eraill yn Sir Benfro yn ystod y pandemig.

Yn ogystal ag aelodau tîm PLANED, roedd ei Fwrdd o Ymddiriedolwyr dan arweiniad y Cadeirydd, Barbara Priest hefyd yn bresennol. Roedd Cadeirydd ac Is-gadeirydd Grŵp Gweithredu Lleol LEADER, y Cynghorydd Tony Baron, a Tegryn Jones, Prif Weithredwr Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Sir Benfro hefyd yn bresennol.

PLANED yw’r unig sefydliad a thîm cydweithredol i dderbyn Tystysgrif o Ragoriaeth ledled Sir Benfro, Sir Gâr a Cheredigion yng ngwobrau eleni gan Uchel Siryf Dyfed, gan fod pob gwobr arall ar gyfer unigolion, grwpiau bach a phrosiectau sydd wedi cyflawni tasgau a chanlyniadau penodol yn ystod y pandemig a’r cyfnodau clo.

Wrth ymateb i’r wobr yn y digwyddiad ar-lein a chan annerch y gynulleidfa oedd yn bresennol, dywedodd Iwan Thomas, Prif Weithredwr PLANED, “Mae hyn yn gydnabyddiaeth ardderchog i’r tîm sydd gennym bellach yn PLANED, y mae eu proffesiynoldeb, eu profiad a’u sgiliau wedi mynd y tu hwnt i bob disgwyl o ran y ffordd y maent wedi ymateb i’r deuddeg mis diwethaf, ac wedi parhau i gyflawni mewn ffordd arloesol a phwrpasol i gymunedau. Mae pob aelod o’r tîm wedi cyfrannu at y deilliannau yr ydym wedi parhau i’w cyflawni, a hynny gyda syniadau newydd, tryloywder, a gweithio’n effeithiol mewn partneriaeth gyda phartneriaid allweddol o’r trydydd sector, y sector cyhoeddus a’r sector preifat.”

Dywedodd Barbara Priest, Cadeirydd y Bwrdd Ymddiriedolwyr PLANED, “Mae’r tîm PLANED cyfan yn haeddiannol iawn o’r wobr hon oherwydd y ffordd y maent wedi parhau i esblygu a chefnogi pobl ledled Sir Benfro yn ystod cyfnod ofnadwy o anodd i bob un ohonom. Nid oedd yn hawdd, ond gyda chyfeiriad clir, ethos ac ymagwedd tîm diffuant a phositif, maent wedi gwneud llawer mwy na’r disgwyl, yn yr un modd â llawer o sefydliadau tebyg dros y trydydd sector a’r sector gwirfoddol yma yn y sir hefyd.”

 Gan gloi’r digwyddiad, nododd yr Arglwydd Raglaw a’r Uchel Siryf sut mae PLANED wirioneddol wedi hyrwyddo pwysigrwydd pobl wrth eu gwaith mewn blynyddoedd diweddar, gydag ystod o brosiectau sy’n cefnogi cymunedau o les digidol a chymunedol; micro-fentrau a chyfranddaliadau cymunedol; diwylliant a threftadaeth; ymddiriedolaethau tir cymunedol a’r amgylchedd; ochr yn ochr â rhwydweithiau ehangach i grwpiau â diddordebau gwahanol, a gweinyddu’r Gronfa LEADER yn Sir Benfro. Nododd hefyd sut roeddent wedi galluogi a chefnogi llawer o gymunedau a grwpiau, ac yn parhau i wneud hynny am flynyddoedd lawer.

Yn anffodus, doedd dim modd dathlu’r wobr wyneb yn wyneb, ac mae’r tîm yn parhau i weithio gartref a chefnogi sawl prosiect a chymuned ledled Sir Benfro. Maent hefyd ar hyn o bryd yn gweithio gyda phartneriaid i gefnogi gwaith gwirfoddol, ymgysylltu â chynghorau tref a chymuned, a’r cyfleoedd gwydnwch economaidd-gymdeithasol i gymunedau ar ôl COVID.
