Welsh National Parks Ask People to Stay at Home

Mae Awdurdodau Parciau Cenedlaethol Cymru yn galw ar y cyhoedd i ddilyn canllawiau

Mae tri Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Cymru ’yn galw ar y cyhoedd i ddilyn canllawiau Llywodraeth Cymru dros wyliau’r Nadolig ac i ddangos amynedd parhaus trwy aros adref ac aros yn ddiogel.

Tra bod Cymru yn parhau i fod dan glo, mae’n amlwg bod rhai pobl yn anwybyddu rheoliadau Llywodraeth Cymru ac yn ceisio ymweld â mannau harddwch poblogaidd y Parc Cenedlaethol, gan roi eu hunain a chymunedau gwledig bregus y Parc mewn mwy o berygl.

Mae Awdurdodau’r Parciau yn atgoffa holl drigolion y DU i gofio bod Cymru ar glo gyda dim ond teithio hanfodol yn cael ei ganiatáu, felly ni all pobl yrru i ymweld ag unrhyw un o Barciau Cenedlaethol Cymru.

Dywedodd Tegryn Jones, Prif Weithredwr Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Sir Benfro:

“Nid oes amheuaeth bod y rhain yn amseroedd heriol ond mae ein holl ddiogelwch yn dibynnu ar bobl yn parchu’r rheolau ac yn gwneud y peth iawn. Ar hyn o bryd mae hyn yn golygu aros gartref i gadw’n ddiogel a gwneud ymarfer corff o’n stepen drws yn unig. Os na, mae pryder gwirioneddol y bydd ein gwasanaethau iechyd gwledig yn wynebu pwysau cynyddol ac ni fydd mesurau pellhau cymdeithasol yn cael eu dilyn.

“Rydym yn deall y rôl hanfodol y mae ein Parciau Cenedlaethol wedi’i chwarae eleni wrth gefnogi iechyd a lles pobl, a faint mae pobl wedi elwa o fynediad i’r awyr agored. Daw’r amser eto pan allwn i gyd fwynhau harddwch ac amrywiaeth ein Parciau, ac edrychwn ymlaen yn fawr at eich croesawu yn ôl pan fydd yr amser hwnnw’n iawn ac mae’n ddiogel i chi ac yn ddiogel i’n cymunedau.”

Welsh National Parks Say Follow These Guidelines

Wales’s three National Park Authorities are calling for the public to follow Welsh Government guidelines and to show continued patience by staying home and staying safe.

They say that, while Wales remains in lockdown, it is clear that some people are ignoring Welsh Government regulations and attempting to access popular National Park beauty spots, putting themselves and the Parks’ fragile rural communities at greater risk.

The Park Authorities are reminding all UK residents to remember that Wales is in lockdown with only essential travel permitted, therefore people are unable to drive to visit any of the Welsh National Parks.

Tegryn Jones, chief executive of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, said:

“There is no doubt these are challenging times but all of our safety depends on people respecting the rules and doing the right thing. Right now this means staying at home to stay safe and only exercising from our doorsteps. If not, there is real concern that our rural health services will face increased pressure and social distancing measures will not be followed.

“We understand the vital role that our National Parks have played this year in supporting people’s health and wellbeing, and how much people have benefited from access to the outdoors. The time will come again when we can all enjoy the beauty and diversity of our Parks, and we very much look forward to welcoming you back when that time is right and it is safe for you and safe for our communities.”
